Secondary copper carbonate mineralisation (malachite) with limonite in quartz. Sample taken from a shallow surface excavation thought to be an ancient mine. Sample assays were: 1.21% Cu and 0.1 g/t Au. 142 KB, approx. 28 seconds at 56.6Kbps |
This zone of listwanite presents as a linear ridge for several hundred metres. there are scattered ancient mine workings along its length. 100 KB, approx. 20 seconds at 56.6Kbps |
A saw scaled viper (approx. 60 cm) basking in the early morning sun. Quite deadly so best avoided. 144 KB, approx. 28 seconds at 56.6Kbps |

There are several ancient mine workings in the region. Several are quite deep. Several samples were taken from the base of this stope, the maximum grade was 0.97 g/t Au. Quartz tailings/gangue on the flank of the mineralisated ridge graded up to 0.49 g/t Au. 78 KB, approx. 15 seconds at 56.6Kbps |
The desert conditions support very little wildlife largely on account of the limits of the sparse and thorny vegetation. The most common animals to be seen are goats and camels. There are scattered permanent villages and temporary nomadic Bedouin settlements across the entire region. 104 KB, approx. 20 seconds at 56.6Kbps |
This ancient stope has followed a high grade zone of mineralisation, likely to be greater than 5 g/t Au. The excavation, which is 30 m in strike and approximately 15 m deep, is open at depth and along strike demonstrating as yet unmeasured potential. 135 KB, approx. 26 seconds at 56.6Kbps |

This ancient adit, into a listwanite silicified ridge with quartz stockwork, descends approximately 25 m. A sample taken in the hanging wall, altered meta-sediments, graded at 0.84 g/t Au. There are extensive quartz tailings piled on the slope below the entrance. 129 KB, approx. 25 seconds at 56.6Kbps |
